![]() Worst part, if you then use a code to continue in the other oracle game it carries over. You can go to Subrosia and do the subrosian dance minigame enough to win the flute (Dimitri), buy the mystery flute in the shop (Moosh), or keep going till you first enter the North Horon at which point you get Ricky's flute if you didn't get either of the other flutes. I remember in seasons it is determined after you complete the second dungeon. ![]() The way the game determines what animal companion you get is so stupid with absolutely no information to help you pick. Hopefully when I get to Seasons and link my game it'll help. It is a Gameboy game so I didn't exactly expect thr world from it, but I feel like Oracle of Ages is exactly the reason I stayed away from Zelda for so long. It's clearly a good game but I don't quite have the patience to deal with head scratching puzzle after puzzle when I'm really just trying to get from point A to B. I feel like I did when playing the NES game. I did play Link's Awakening's remake so it's not a direct 1:1, but my main gripes with the game were not in the older Zelda on the same system. I know this is a Gameboy game so I'm willing to give it some slack.but I don't think that's an excuse since the system has a ton of games on it that don't have this problem. Music is Mid most of the time, and overall it feels like I'm half reading a guide and half looking at my 3DS playing it. The story is cool, but since I haven't played Seasons yet (I will don't worry) it feels kind of half baked. The Goron mini games are the worst thing ever.Įvery hour or so I can't help but get stuck, look up a guide and wonder how the fuck was I supposed to get that? I don't even feel stupid for missing it I just feel frustrated and defeated. A dungeon where you have to solve half of it before knowing to double back and finish it in another time period. There's a puzzle where you have to turn all the tiles on the floor the same color and you can't even see the entire puzzle because it was made for the Gameboy Color. Zelda fans know this game goes heavy on the puzzles but some of these solutions are just silly. But Oracle of Ages is every fear I had for the series. I've been trying to get into this series more since I can recognize they're all such high quality titles. I've had Nintendo consoles my whole life, but up until BoTW I've never really given Zelda more than a cursory glance. ![]() The old /r/patientgamers Essential Games List Please use flair to display what games you’re currently playing, not a punch line, username, tag, URL, or signature.
